Support to live well at home

Support at Home funds approved services for eligible older people who need help to remain safe, independent and connected in their own home.

Who is eligible for Support at Home? 

You may qualify for an aged care assessment if you need help with everyday tasks and you are: 

• aged 65 or older, 

• an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander persons aged 50 or older, or 
• aged 50 or older and homeless or at risk of homelessness.
• a younger person with a disability, dementia or other care needs not met through other specialist services, you may also qualify.

What happens after your assessment?

You will first receive a Notice of Decision letter and a support plan explaining your eligibility.

The title of your most recent My Aged Care letter can help you identify your next step. 

When your funding is allocated

You generally have 56 days from the date of your letter to enter into a service agreement and being services.  My Aged Care may provide a 28-day extension if you need more time to find a suitable provider.
