A day for carers: time to pause, connect and enjoy
Behind every person receiving care is often someone quietly giving their time, energy and attention to support someone they care about.
Caring can be deeply rewarding, but it can also mean putting your own plans, appointments and wellbeing further down the list.
That is why at TTHA and Accent Home Care, our Carer Support events are about something very simple:
Creating time for the carer too.
Recently, more than 40 carers joined us for a special day in Melbourne, beginning with a high tea at Collins Coffee House, before heading to the Regent Theater for Pretty Woman: The Musical.

More than a day out.
A high tea and theater were certainly highlights, but what made the day particularly special were the moments in between.
Carers had time to talk, laugh and connect with other people who understood the caring journey. The event created an opportunity to step away from everyday responsibilities for a few hours and simply enjoy being together.
For some carers, opportunities like this can be difficult to make time for.
And that is exactly why they matter.
"We see you"
The feedback following the event was overwhelmingly positive.
Carers told us they felt valued, recognised and appreciated, while the opportunity to meet and connect with other carers was consistently identified as one of the most meaningful parts of the day. Our team was also recognised for the warmth, care and support they provided throughout the event.
It reinforces something we believe strongly at TTHA:
Supporting a carer means seeing the person behind the caring role.
Sometimes support is practical. Sometimes it is respite, information or help navigating services.
And sometimes it is the chance to sit down over high tea, see a show, meet someone new, and have a few hours that are simply yours.
Supporting carers beyond the event.
Care support at TTHA extends beyond social events.
Our team can help carers explore respite, wellbeing support, provide information, connection and other services that may make caring a little easier.
You don't need to know exactly what support you need before getting in touch.
Start with a conversation.
We'll listen and help you understand the options that may be available for you and the person you care for.
Stay connected
