Do you care for someone and need a break to attend appointments, go shopping, and or spend time with friends?
When you are a carer, it’s important to regularly take time for yourself to rest and recharge.
If you need a break, respite care services can look after the person you care for. Respite services respond to the individual needs of both carers and people being cared for. Respite can be for both people in the care relationship.
You can access respite care for a few hours, a few days, or longer depending on your needs and eligibility.
Respite can be accessed in your home, out in the community, or in an aged care home.
Our Carer Support Services program offers:
- Flexible respite in your own home or out in the community
- Respite at an Aged Care Home
- Emergency respite
- Personal care
- Support in an unexpected situation
- Social Outings
You don’t need any government approval to access carer support services.
